REFERENCE SERIES

A further revision of our long-standing flagship range has been inspired by our continuous quest for design perfection. Since its triumphant debut in 2005 the Reference range is a showcase of our foremost patented technological breakthroughs like FTDA® conductor damping method (Patent RU No.124834U), SATI® conductor insulation (Patent RU No.124832U) and X-Shield® SE (Super Efficiency) - the latest modification of the Multi-Element Shielding System (Patent RU No.124835U).

Another stunning innovation, pioneered here, is the Distributed Symmetric Conductor - DSC (Patent RU No.2652382U), developed for our top-of-the-line power cords and speaker cables. DSC enables the highest possible group wave speed, provides significant EMI reduction and better noise immunity up to 20-40dB compared to an ordinary conductor. Reduced irradiation determines low and constant impedance in a wider frequency range from DC to tens of MHz. The symmetrical spatial conductor straddling decreases cable distributed capacitance and guarantees near-to-ideal energy and signal transmission with a clearly audible dynamic range extension, sufficient gain in definition along the full frequency range and awesome transparency. Exceptional flexibility derived from a relatively compact outer diameter makes the connection easy and esthetic.

After years of intensive research and design refinements we’ve offered the state-of-the-art Reference cables with every facet of their construction carefully focused on boosting the performance. The modern Reference cables exceed every expectation a true audiophile has ever imagined and leave little to be desired. They offer musical fidelity that is second only to the Ultimate series for about half of the cost.

This is our state-of-the-art digital symmetrical interconnect cable with exactly matched 110 Ohm wave impedance. Thanks to carefully accomplished essential design refinements it is perfectly adapted for high precision digital data transfer via a balanced AES/EBU interface. The FTDA® conductor damping method, revised SATI®/SDB insulation/binding combination and the enhanced X-Shield® SE boost the vibration absorption, supreme dielectric qualities and EMI immunity. The radical insulation, binding and shielding improvements decrease signal energy loss and dispersion, as well as eliminate the roots of noise-correlated jitter and contribute to accurate transmission of the digital pulse’s time scale and shape. That is extremely important for precise PLL master clock recovery in digital receivers. The new Reference MkII IC AES/EBU is an almost ideal digital interconnect cable with class-leading analytic definition, transparency and spatial presentation combined with unfailingly precise timbre reproduction and neutrality. It offers simply exceptional performance with meticulous attention to every subtlety and stunning naturalness and realism.

Due to the cable construction complexity and excessive material consumption the initial burn-in period (time during which the best sonic performance is reached) is suggested as 100 hours of uninterrupted music playback at least. We highly recommend playing music of different genres.

Due to our policy of continuous product development, all specifications are subject to change without notice.

MADE IN RUSSIA

Tchernov Audio was established in 1997 to represent some of the leading Hi-Fi brands in the Russian and CIS markets - a task we undertake to this day. Just five years later, in 2002, we announced the founding of the very first Russian audio brand - Tchernov Cable and launched a complete range of cables for audio and video that were designed and built in Russia with production beginning later that year. Over the next decade, thanks to a number of ground-breaking proprietary technologies, Tchernov Cable has grown to be one of the most highly regarded audio companies in Russia. Our products marked “Made in Russia” have also met with international acclaim from the audio press and public. We are a company of music lovers and audio enthusiasts and our passion is reflected in every piece of our work.

“We offer our customers an unbeatable combination of uncompromising cutting-edge design and engineering with an unmatched list of the world’s finest ingredients and make them available for a competitive price without inflated costs for ridiculous cosmetics!”

A PHILOSOPHY OF AUTHENTICITY

All Tchernov Cable products are developed to convey the richness and beauty of the music with accurate and native timbre with every nuance and subtle detail intact. Just as important as capturing this information is excluding any kind of distortion or colouration that can have a deeply negative effect on sonic accuracy. Only by successfully accomplishing this can the true Hi-Fi set-up reproduce the musical composition that the composer and artist intended.

Accurate Timbre

Every musical instrument has a unique timbre thanks to the material used in its construction, the philosophy of its manufacturer and the skill and style of the musician playing it. The single most important task of our cables is the perfect reproduction of this unique sonic character. By accurately transferring all the fine detail that makes up this individuality, Tchernov Cable products reveal the elegance and emotion of the greatest musicians both ancient and modern.

Tonal Balance

The precise reproduction of the complete frequency range of any piece of music is vital for a believable and immersive audio sound that is completely convincing. Deep and articulated bass, lush midrange and a refined, smear free treble must be seamlessly matched to create a genuine realism. An engrossing musical performance can be achieved only by the accurate and even presentation of the full audio frequency range.

Soundstage and Timing

The combination of musicians and instruments within a performance is a delicate one and their relationship to one another is often the result of countless hours of practise. By the same token, reproducing this interaction with the correct soundstage and timing is the result of countless experiments and listening tests. By getting the presentation right the performance benefits from a wide and tangibly real sound that lets you enjoy the music as if the musicians were live in front of you.

GOLDEN RATIO

It has been used by mankind for centuries. Mathematicians, architects, artists, historians, philosophers and of course musicians realised that there exists a proportion in nature that is repeated time and again in a bewildering variety of instances. It goes back at least as far as 300 B.C., when the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid first ever described it in his major work, the “Elements” as the solution of equation x² - x = 1 (the irrational number, ≈ 1.618). Pythagoras, Plato, Aristotle, Da Vinci and others devoted endless hours to further understanding the mathematical perfection of the Golden Ratio and many of their most notable works have their basis in it. Man’s use of the Golden Ratio may have begun as early as the ancient Egyptians in the construction of the Pyramids. The Greeks used it for aesthetic perfection in their art and architecture while Renaissance artists saw it as a divine proportion that imparted beauty and balance in the creation of art. It also appears in the physical proportions of the human body and the universe. Given its fundamental role in so many aspects of human existence, it is also the framework for the lengths Tchernov Cable uses. We have applied further tests and analysis to determine the preferable lengths for our terminated cables, which we hereafter call “standard lengths”.
