Classic Interconnect Cables

Our newest and best effort to date, the CLASSIC interconnects inherit all the advantages of their highly rated predecessors in terms of tonal balance, exceptional definition and transparency. The further evolvement though has been achieved through scrupulous revision of the insulation and binding. High-precision machinery used for overlaying the revised 2-layer CAFPE (Combined Air-Foamed Polyethylene) conductor insulation and a 12% increase of its overall thickness, along with each layer structural refinements boosts dielectric parameters and reduces cable capacitance. The next major evolution is our proprietary SASDB technology. Instead of a 2-layer standard binding with PTFE (Teflon®) tapes over the twisted conductors, we applied a 4-layer bi-directional X-cross SASDB (Semi-Air-Spaced Dielectric Binding). It provides a significant reduction of signal energy losses caused by solid dielectric material being partially replaced by air spacing with its extremely low and frequency independent relative permittivity. Furthermore, due to the lessening of mechanical inter-layer tensions, vibrations are absorbed efficiently with awesome flexibility obtained as a result.

Our best-selling interconnect ever in many respects defines the Tchernov Cable house sound: real-scale imaging, subtle detailing and a beautifully composed midrange free of the slightest trace of harshness or aggression. The exactingly engineered and time-proved 0.50 mm² conductor geometry along with the advanced CAFPE®/SASDB® insulation/binding combination boosts dielectric qualities, reduces distributed capacitance and signal energy losses. The jacket executed of a Russian-made low-loss SPVC provides excellent mechanical strength and efficient absorption of acoustic noise and vibrational loads. As a result the Classic MkII IC is more extended towards the frequency extremes and has a flatter frequency response. The immense sonic richness of this interconnect cable translates into a spectacular musical experience.

Type: analogue symmetrical interconnect cable
Conductor: 2 x 0.50 mm² (19 x 0.18 mm) twisted multi-stranded BRC conductors
Insulation: 2-layer CAFPE®
Dielectric binding: SASDB®
Shield: >90% BRC braid
Jacket: antistatic low-loss SPVC
Protective cover: nylon sleeve
Outer diameter: 10 mm
Тermination: RCA/RCA or XLR/XLR with Classic V2 plugs
Available: in standard terminated lengths
Country of origin: made in Russia

Due to the cable construction complexity and excessive material consumption the initial burn-in period (time during which the best sonic performance is reached) is suggested as 100 hours of uninterrupted music playback at least. We highly recommend playing music of different genres.

Due to our policy of continuous product development, all specifications are subject to change without notice.

MADE IN RUSSIA

Tchernov Audio was established in 1997 to represent some of the leading Hi-Fi brands in the Russian and CIS markets - a task we undertake to this day. Just five years later, in 2002, we announced the founding of the very first Russian audio brand - Tchernov Cable and launched a complete range of cables for audio and video that were designed and built in Russia with production beginning later that year. Over the next decade, thanks to a number of ground-breaking proprietary technologies, Tchernov Cable has grown to be one of the most highly regarded audio companies in Russia. Our products marked “Made in Russia” have also met with international acclaim from the audio press and public. We are a company of music lovers and audio enthusiasts and our passion is reflected in every piece of our work.

“We offer our customers an unbeatable combination of uncompromising cutting-edge design and engineering with an unmatched list of the world’s finest ingredients and make them available for a competitive price without inflated costs for ridiculous cosmetics!”

A PHILOSOPHY OF AUTHENTICITY

All Tchernov Cable products are developed to convey the richness and beauty of the music with accurate and native timbre with every nuance and subtle detail intact. Just as important as capturing this information is excluding any kind of distortion or colouration that can have a deeply negative effect on sonic accuracy. Only by successfully accomplishing this can the true Hi-Fi set-up reproduce the musical composition that the composer and artist intended.

Accurate Timbre

Every musical instrument has a unique timbre thanks to the material used in its construction, the philosophy of its manufacturer and the skill and style of the musician playing it. The single most important task of our cables is the perfect reproduction of this unique sonic character. By accurately transferring all the fine detail that makes up this individuality, Tchernov Cable products reveal the elegance and emotion of the greatest musicians both ancient and modern.

Tonal Balance

The precise reproduction of the complete frequency range of any piece of music is vital for a believable and immersive audio sound that is completely convincing. Deep and articulated bass, lush midrange and a refined, smear free treble must be seamlessly matched to create a genuine realism. An engrossing musical performance can be achieved only by the accurate and even presentation of the full audio frequency range.

Soundstage and Timing

The combination of musicians and instruments within a performance is a delicate one and their relationship to one another is often the result of countless hours of practise. By the same token, reproducing this interaction with the correct soundstage and timing is the result of countless experiments and listening tests. By getting the presentation right the performance benefits from a wide and tangibly real sound that lets you enjoy the music as if the musicians were live in front of you.

GOLDEN RATIO

It has been used by mankind for centuries. Mathematicians, architects, artists, historians, philosophers and of course musicians realised that there exists a proportion in nature that is repeated time and again in a bewildering variety of instances. It goes back at least as far as 300 B.C., when the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid first ever described it in his major work, the “Elements” as the solution of equation x² - x = 1 (the irrational number, ≈ 1.618). Pythagoras, Plato, Aristotle, Da Vinci and others devoted endless hours to further understanding the mathematical perfection of the Golden Ratio and many of their most notable works have their basis in it. Man’s use of the Golden Ratio may have begun as early as the ancient Egyptians in the construction of the Pyramids. The Greeks used it for aesthetic perfection in their art and architecture while Renaissance artists saw it as a divine proportion that imparted beauty and balance in the creation of art. It also appears in the physical proportions of the human body and the universe. Given its fundamental role in so many aspects of human existence, it is also the framework for the lengths Tchernov Cable uses. We have applied further tests and analysis to determine the preferable lengths for our terminated cables, which we hereafter call “standard lengths”.
