Product Description

ROCKFORD FOSGATE T2652-S 6.5" Aluminum Component System

The T2652-S 6.5" is an alternative component system to the T1 with a major difference being a Billet aluminum phase plug to enhance cooling. The woofer features the same VAST surround having up to 25% increased cone area and a Flex Fit Basket for easy mounting. Another difference is the Aluminum Dome Neo-Tweeter for Fanatics who prefer this type of tonal quality over the T1. The same external audiophile crossover is used, configurable for single or bi-amp configurations.

The T2652-S is a 6.50” 2-way component system featuring 1” aluminum dome tweeters and is rated at 100 Watts RMS. Kit includes pair or woofers with grilles, two tweeters with dedicated audiophile crossovers and mounting hardware.

VAST Surround - speakers

U.S. Patent Patent Pending

The Vertical Attach Surround Technique significantly increases a speaker's effective radiating cone area without complicated installation issues. The result provides up to 25% more effective radiating cone area for the same model speaker.

VAST™ significantly increases a speakers effective radiating cone area without complicated installation issues. This design alters the typical design and manufacturing technique by eliminating the large flat glue surface area (the landing) which allows the surround to be shifted for increased cone area. In turn, both nominal efficiency and maximum output capabilities are dramatically improved.

A hypothetical comparison of a 2004 Power T1 subwoofer vs. a VAST™ example:

The new patent-pending VAST™ technique is a result of combining a unique design concept with precise manufacturing to provide up to 25% more effective radiating cone area.

DDC™ Tweeter Mounting

Our DDC™ (Discreet Dual Clamp) Tweeter Mounting provides concentric clamping pressure around the perimeter of the mounting hole. This results in maximimum ease of installation.

Every aspect of our new DDC™ Tweeter design has been completely re-engineered to allow for maximum ease of installation and fitment. This optimized patent pending design provides concentric clamping pressure around the perimeter of the mounting hole.

The "mounting cups" on the new design are in fact not "cups" at all, but rather unobtrusive "clamps" that quickly and easily mount in a standard 1-5/4" (45mm) hole saw opening with a single concentric center screw securing with balanced pressure to both faces of the mounting surface. From there, the tweeter simply snaps into place and is secured by a snap on trim ring. Removal is easy if needed. The protective grille on the tweeter is non-removable and an integral part of the design.

Flex Fit Basket - Speaker

The slot mounted frame pattern allows for variable adjustments to the mounting position.

The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where feasible) instead of single screw sized holes. This allows slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.

Multi-OEM Adapter

The Multi-OEM Adapter plate allows round component or full-range speakers to fit in certain OEM openings. This allows the speaker the capacity to fit more vehicles.

Using a uniquely designed adapter plate, special "break-away" tabs can be removed to facilitate installation of circular speakers in 4"x6", 5"x7" or 6"x9" OEM openings. The adapter also allows a 5"x7" to fit a 6"x8" opening. The example adapter plate above allows the Punch P1S652 full-range speaker to fit inside a 5"x7" or 6"x9" opening.

PTC Protection

Allows tweeter protection with a bypass resistor for 100% run-time.

Axis Switch

The "Axis" function can be used in conjunction with any tweeter level setting, allowing you to target a sonic preference.

All tweeters suffer from high frequency roll-off when the tweeter is positioned indirectly (off-axis) to the listener. Rockford Fosgate designed a tweeter that has a smooth natural rising response characteristic when positioned directly (on-axis) with the listener. The "axis" function addresses varying tweeter locations. By default, the "Axis" circuit is OFF, since this is the most common tweeter position relative to the listener.

When the "Axis" setting is ON, the circuit shelves (shapes) the higher frequencies. This helps the installer select the setting which can provide the best possible tonal balance regardless of tweeter location.

The "Axis" function can be used in conjunction with any tweeter level setting, allowing you to target a sonic preference.

CEA-2031

Power handling on Rockford Fosgate speakers conform to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means your speaker has the capacity to handle power under continuous damand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
