The major Ultimate’s DNA is the immaculate BRC+ conductors with unsurpassed impurity ratios, especially for the elements with semiconductor properties like tin (Sn) <0.00002%, germanium (Ge) <0.00002%, antimony (Sb) <0.00004%, arsenic (As) <0.00003%, cadmium (Cd) <0.00003%, and oxygen (O) <0.00024%. The BRC+ conductors open the gateway to a fascinating world of the tiniest subtleties and musical emotions that are usually barely perceptible.
The Ultimate cables are the first to be engineered with X-Shield® SE (Super Efficiency) - the latest evolution of our highly acclaimed Multi-Element Shielding System. It is a 4-layer interactive sandwich, where a >60% BRC braid is enclosed by two layers of solid 50 µ rolled BRC foil. Heavy foil provides better EMI suppression at LF, where industrial noise is most intensive. Due to higher metal mass the SE edition offers superior vibration absorption and virtually eliminates electro-dynamic noise generated in the shield. Furthermore, the additional outer layer of >85% silver tinsel braid improves the HF-UHF noise protection. The comprehensive shielding capabilities further expand the attainable dynamic range.
The gleaming Ultimate connectors, made of rhodium plated beryllium copper, complete the meticulous product visualization. Rhodium is chosen for its extreme hardness. The coating serves to protect the beryllium copper surface from deformation and homogeneity disturbance which can cause non-linear or high resistive local zones. Rhodium is noted for its proven neutrality and a more detailed, articulated performance.
Near ideal dynamics along with awesome scale definition maintained throughout the entire frequency range translates to exacting timbre, enormous physicality and fabulous transparency. Our top-of-the-line analog interconnect cable is exactingly engineered around the immaculate 1.00 mm² BRC+ conductors with unsurpassed impurity ratios and FTDA® damping method. A conductor free floating in a viscous longitudinal cotton fiber surround with high mechanical decrement enhances the efficient absorption of mechanical vibrations affecting the conductors by as much as 50 times and ensures the widest possible dynamic range. A complex SATI®/SASDB® assembly steps down the common-mode component distributed capacitance thus manifesting itself as desensitizing the cable to HF and UHF noise, decrease the relative permittivity and signal energy losses. Moreover, it improves the conductor damping and virtually eliminates electro-dynamic noise. Unsurpassed EMI immunity derives from the X-Shield® SE - the latest modification of our patented Multi-Element Shielding System. The Ultimate IC is jacketed with highly elastic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) Elastollan®. Developed by BASF, it exemplifies unrivalled dielectric long-term stability, mechanical strength and efficient absorption of acoustic noise and vibrational loads. Targeting the most demanding High End enthusiasts, the Ultimate IC exceeds its highly acclaimed Reference MkII IC counterpart primarily in fine definition and emotional appeal. Due to the cable construction complexity and excessive material consumption the initial burn-in period (time during which the best sonic performance is reached) is suggested as 100 hours of uninterrupted music playback at least. We highly recommend playing music of different genres.

A PHILOSOPHY OF AUTHENTICITY
All Tchernov Cable products are developed to convey the richness and beauty of the music with accurate and native timbre with every nuance and subtle detail intact. Just as important as capturing this information is excluding any kind of distortion or colouration that can have a deeply negative effect on sonic accuracy. Only by successfully accomplishing this can the true Hi-Fi set-up reproduce the musical composition that the composer and artist intended.

Every musical instrument has a unique timbre thanks to the material used in its construction, the philosophy of its manufacturer and the skill and style of the musician playing it. The single most important task of our cables is the perfect reproduction of this unique sonic character. Tonal Balance
The precise reproduction of the complete frequency range of any piece of music is vital for a believable and immersive audio sound that is completely convincing. Deep and articulated bass, lush midrange and a refined, smear free treble must be seamlessly matched to create a genuine realism. An engrossing musical performance can be achieved only by the accurate and even presentation of the full audio frequency range.
Soundstage and Timing
The combination of musicians and instruments within a performance is a delicate one and their relationship to one another is often the result of countless hours of practise. By the same token, reproducing this interaction with the correct soundstage and timing is the result of countless experiments and listening tests. By getting the presentation right the performance benefits from a wide and tangibly real sound that lets you enjoy the music as if the musicians were live in front of you.
GOLDEN RATIO
It has been used by mankind for centuries. Mathematicians, architects, artists, historians, philosophers and of course musicians realised that there exists a proportion in nature that is repeated time and again in a bewildering variety of instances. It goes back at least as far as 300 B.C., when the ancient Greek mathematician Euclid first ever described it in his major work, the “Elements” as the solution of equation x² - x = 1 (the irrational number, ≈ 1.618). Pythagoras, Plato, Aristotle, Da Vinci and others devoted endless hours to further understanding the mathematical perfection of the Golden Ratio and many of their most notable works have their basis in it. Man’s use of the Golden Ratio may have begun as early as the ancient Egyptians in the construction of the Pyramids. The Greeks used it for aesthetic perfection in their art and architecture while Renaissance artists saw it as a divine proportion that imparted beauty and balance in the creation of art. It also appears in the physical proportions of the human body and the universe. Given its fundamental role in so many aspects of human existence, it is also the framework for the lengths Tchernov Cable uses. We have applied further tests and analysis to determine the preferable lengths for our terminated cables, which we hereafter call “standard lengths”.
